Two important Chelsea players have reportedly been identified by Spanish powerhouse Barcelona, who will make an attempt to recruit them this summer. Is there a chance Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will visit Camp Nou again? And why would N'golo Kante choose to remain at Stamford Bridge when he has the opportunity to play for one of the most prestigious and successful international clubs and possibly win the Champions League once more?
Kante is said to be negotiating a brand new contract with the Blues at present. But now that European football is off the table for next season, I am sure the Frenchman is less inclined to sign even lucrative in-house offers. Unfortunately, when sides like Barca come in for players, it doesn’t take a club in disarray, as CFC are, to lose its best. Thankfully Aubameyang is the man who could apparently depart alongside Kante. I am not so sure Chelsea supporters will mind that scenario too much if it becomes reality.
Yet the World Cup winner is someone who could be integral to turning fortunes around on Fulham Road. Even at the ripe old athlete age of 32 – he won’t be 33 until next March – the midfielder can be instrumental against the best of opponents. On his day, his energy and desire remain positively alien-like. Meanwhile Auba has had a very difficult time at the Bridge overall. At the beginning of his Chels’ career it seemed as though he would succeed in being a goal-machine once more. But that hope soon faded. The Blaugrana want the pair for 2023/24 amid Kante deliberating his future.
