Kepa Arrizabalaga has been Chelsea’s number one keeper so far this season and given his performances, he could be handed a fresh chance to impress under Pochettino.
At centre-back, Thiago Silva is a crucial figure in Chelsea’s defensive plans, while Benoit Badiashile is someone who is only going to get better at the age of 22.
Pochettino puts huge emphasis on his full-backs getting forward and so it will be music to his ears that he will inherit a squad with Reece James and Ben Chilwell in their ranks – two of the best in the business.
Chelsea boast lots of experience in central midfield, but as someone who prefers to work with young players, it’s Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez who could be trusted as the future of Chelsea.
Fernandez is a World Cup winner and someone whom the club will be keen to build the team around, while Gallagher is an academy graduate who plays with his heart week in, week out – something that supporters love to see.
It’s a similar story with Mason Mount, however uncertainty over his future at the club could see Pochettino planning for life without him.
