Chelsea fans haven't had much to celebrate recently so they have been quick to draw satisfaction from Arsenal's defeat against Manchester City
Despite the gloom and despair at Chelsea, Arsenal's loss to Manchester City has given Blues supporters some solace. With goals from Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, and Erling Haaland, the defending champions defeated Mikel Arteta's team 4-1 and made significant progress toward defending their title.
The gap between City and the Gunners at the top of the Premier League has shrunk to just two points, and Pep Guardiola's team still has two games remaining as Chelsea watches from 11th place. The north Londoners would have given themselves plenty of much-needed breathing room if they had secured three significant points at the Etihad Stadium.
Arsenal have now squandered numerous opportunities to extend their lead in the title race. In just their previous four games, they've let slip a pair of two-goal leads, gone two-nil down inside a quarter of an hour against Southampton and suffered defeat to Pep Guardiola's robotically excellent side
