Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has given an explanation behind his decision to delete his Twitter account.
Nowadays, a lot of football players communicate with their fans on social media sites like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook and provide fans a unique glimpse into their personal life.
Mount, 24, who has 1.8 million followers on Twitter, has made the decision to remove his account.
The Chelsea player tweeted on Thursday afternoon: "Over the years, I've greatly loved engaging with all of you on Twitter. I regretfully have to remove my account because the platform is changing.
You can still reach me at http://masonmount.Komi.io to connect with me on my other social media channels. Mason, take care.
Before making his club debut in 2019 under manager Frank Lampard, Mount worked his way up through the ranks at Chelsea.
Since then, he has produced 195 films.
In recent months, Mount’s future at Stamford Bridge has become the talk of the town.
The midfielder’s contract is due to expire at the end of the 23/24 season. To date, it is believed that no agreement has been reached between the club and the player over a potential new deal.
Heading into the summer transfer window, Chelsea will have to make a decision on whether to cash in on Mount or let him run down his contract and lose him for free next summer.
