Frank Lampard is set to make at least to changes to his Chelsea side that lost to Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at the Bernabeu.

Frank Lampard is hoping that Chelsea can go one step further with their second-leg impact against Real Madrid this year, after the Blues went close to overcoming a two-goal deficit in 2022. The caretaker manager watched his side lose 2-0 at the Bernabeu less than a week after returning to the club, but believes there are reasons to be hopeful should his team step up a level. Because Marc Cucurella enters the backline to replace Chilwell, and Thiago Silva returns after watching Chelsea's loss to Brighton as a spectator, the west London team may opt to play with a back four. Wesley Fofana and Reece James will continue in their positions and must once more contend with facing off against Vinicius Jr.
