On Thursday, the former Bayern Munich manager declared he will not be applying for the Blues position.
Thomas Tuchel was fired by club owner Todd Boehly at the start of the season, according to The Independent, and the Chelsea management team felt he "too much like Tuchel."
Since then, Tuchel has taken Nagelsmann's place at Bayern Munich.
Nagelsmann withdrew from the discussions in the meanwhile, feeling as though he couldn't function inside Chelsea's framework.
The German is, however, open to hearing from Tottenham, who are also looking for a long-term manager following the departure of Antonio Conte.
