Mauricio Pochettino is expected to bring his four-man backroom team to Chelsea as he is entering the final phase of negotiations with the club, according to reports.
According to rumors, Mauricio Pochettino is anticipated to bring his four-person backroom crew to Chelsea as he enters the final stages of discussions with the team.
Pochettino has recently emerged as the front-runner to take over as the permanent manager of Chelsea, and according to The Telegraph, an agreement is imminent.
According to the report, Pochettino is in final talks with Chelsea and will be permitted to bring at least four assistants.
The first name on the reported list is Pochettino’s number two and head of conditioning, Jesus Perez. He is said to play an influential role in Pochettino’s set-up and will be expected to work alongside Chelsea medical team going forward.
Then there are first-team coach Miguel D’Agostino, goalkeeping coach Toni Jimenez, and Pochettino’s son, Sebastiano, who is a sports scientist.
There remains confusion about the status of Graham Potter’s former coaching staff at Chelsea, however.
Bruno Saltor, for example, who was in charge of Chelsea’s draw with Liverpool as an interim, is still listed on Chelsea’s staff list on the official website. This is also the case with assistant coach Bjorn Hamberg.
Although the futures of hiring expert Kyle Macaulay and goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts are still up in the air, according to The Telegraph, the two are reportedly likely to depart.
Ashley Cole, a fellow Chelsea veteran and member of Frank Lampard's staff, will probably leave the club after this season along with the interim manager.
