Paul Merson has said that “the perfect candidate” for the managerial role at Chelsea is Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The former Arsenal star has written in SportsKeeda that Chelsea should bring back Ancelotti.
However, the Sky Sports pundit has added that he does not think that the Italian tactician will go back to Chelsea. Merson has also outlined the reasons why Chelsea should not hire former Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino. The Independent have reported that Chelsea’s talks with Pochettino are going smoothly, and that the Argentine could sign his contract this week. Ancelotti will in charge of Chelsea from the summer of 2009 until the summer of 2011. During his time at Stamford Bridge, the Italian boss won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield once each.
