The Blues are reportedly close to choosing Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager on a permanent basis, according to The Guardian.
Nagelsmann, though, was anxious about how long the hiring process was taking and how he might not truly be chosen as the best candidate for the position.
Pochettino has now emerged as the leading candidate for the position, and rumours now claim that a deal might be reached very quickly.
The current situation at Stamford Bridge is pretty dire, and Frank Lampard is currently without a win in his second tenure in charge.
While he may have personally had ambitions of being handed the job on a permanent basis, being knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid will have all-but eliminated his prospects of getting the role.
