Thomas Tuchel has left Chelsea, but Romelu Lukaku is still keen to stay in Italy where he’s happy. His problem is that Inter Milan are in a very difficult way financially, and even if he lowers his demands as low as possible, the club are still going to struggle to pay Chelsea anything close to what they want.
What hasn’t helped has been his poor season, with the first half heavily affected by injury and the second half by his team’s struggles.
He scored twice against Empoli at the weekend however, and know he’s still got a chance to tipping the balance when I Inter make their decisions. Only 40 days remain in the Nerazzuri season, but that includes two games in the Champions League semi finals where he can truly make a splash. Maybe this whole season has been building up to this dramatic finale for him? Chelsea fans will be watching with interest.
