As interim manager until the end of the season, Chelsea icon Frank Lampard returned to Stamford Bridge, but things have not gone well for him thus far. The 44-year-old has lost his team's first four games, becoming the first Blues manager to do so. Lampard has already ruined his chances of being named the team's permanent manager for the upcoming season.
The vacant managerial position at Chelsea has been discussed with both Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann, with the latter emerging as the "favorite" ahead of the former Barcelona and Spain manager. Bayern Munich fired Nagelsmann last month; ironically, Thomas Tuchel took his place at the Allianz Arena.
After Graham Potter was fired, Lampard acknowledged that returning to the Blues was a "no brainer" for him. If he were to be rewarded for his commitment, Lampard might go on to play a significant role at the team moving forward. The 44-year-old is known for having a keen eye for potential and the ability to identify and aggressively pursue individuals.
Mason Mount and Reece James both received their Stamford Bridge debuts from Lampard, and both have since grown into key members of the team. Declan Rice, the West Ham captain, was also named as a top transfer target by the former Everton manager, and the Blues are still interested in him today.
