Mason Mount, Reece James, Kalidou Koulibaly, and four more players are still out for Chelsea's travel to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday to take on Bournemouth.

After having surgery to treat a pubic bone issue that had bothered him toward the conclusion of the season, Mount is probably sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.

With hamstring problems, James and Koulibaly might also be sidelined until the following season, while Armando Broja is a confirmed long-term absentee following a major knee injury in December.

The only player who could return for the final few games is Marc Cucurella, but the trip to the South Coast is scheduled too soon.

Frank Lampard still has around 27 players to select a squad and must begin to settle on a line-up after chopping and changing throughout his first six matches since becoming the caretaker manager.

Chelsea played a back four against Arsenal and were blown away inside 34 minutes, which could see Lampard again return to a back three that has proved more solid under the last three managers.

Noni Madueke will hope he has done enough to keep his place after being the only player singled out for praise after scoring at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

Joao Felix is well suited to the 3-4-3 formation that Lampard could try out once again. There are also calls for Benoit Badiashile to start in the backline but Lampard has so far preferred the homegrown Trevoh Chalobah.

The rest of the starters will be the usual suspects who retain a prominent place in the bloated squad.
